3rd Aberdeen Company Page

3rd Aberdeen Company meets in Garthdee Church Hall, Ramsay Gardens, on a Monday evening.

Explorers: Primary 1-3
5.45 - 7pm

Juniors: Primary 4-7
6.15 - 8.00pm

Brigaders: Secondary 1-6
7.30 - 9.15pm

Each session the company leaders aim to provide our members with as wide a range of activities as possible and providing the girls with opportunities to try new things and participate to the best of their abilities.

Last session the Explorers focussed on Food; singing songs about food, played food themed games, did lots of sweetie making and cooking. The Juniors' theme last session was helping hands when they learned first aid, had visits from the Police and a nurse, visited the Fire Station, learned about prayer and even had a visit from "The Germ Lady". The Brigaders also covered a wide variety of subjects from sweetie making to dance to map reading.

On top of all this badgework the girls all trained and took part in competitions at both local and national level, represented Aberdeen Division at the Kirkin' of the Council, participated at several church services, leadership training, our annual picnic (when we even managed to highjack a wedding), the Divisional Display at the Music Hall, Divisional Centenary Celebrations plus our own Annual Display.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

Our Brigaders are also encouraged to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. We are delighted to say that all of our girls and leaders within the Duke of Edinburgh Award age group are all working towards or have earned a DofE Award.

This year we had the pleasure of seeing two of our young leaders, Rachael Esson and Dionne Greig travel to the Palace of Holyroodhouse to have their Gold Awards presented by the Duke of Edinburgh himself.
